Watch Winders suitable for Cartier Watches:

When selecting a watch winder that is suitable for your Cartier watch things are made really quite simple as the majority of their current models fit within the standard winding specifications shared by the vast majority of all automatic watches on sale today.  If you want to learn some of the basics our guide to selecting a watch winder would be the perfect place to go.

A selection of some of our most popular winders that are suitable for the majority of Cartier Watches.

(Please remember to check your required TPD and Direction of Winding.  If you need any help please do not hesitate to contact us!)

The majority of Cartier watches require between 650 and 980 TPD and need to be wound Bi-Directionally or Clockwise, here are a few of the most popular Cartier models and their winding specifications:

Please do not be concerned if a watch winder has slightly more TPD than is suggested for your watch.  There is protection built into each automatic watch that protects them against over winding … once the watch is fully wound then any extra turns per day generated by your watch winder would simply not be counted.

Find the right style Watch Winder for your Cartier Watch

Once the basics of TPD and Direction of winding have been covered you can start to have fun finding the perfect winder for your watch.  We all like different things and as you were faced with many options when choosing your watch there are similarly many options when it comes to choosing your watch winder.

Here are a few suggestions of how your watch can be complimented by its winder:

A Cartier watch has a very distinctive style and is instantly recognisable … these classic watches look at home in any of our winders but here are a few ideas.

A Ballon Bleu with a Moon Phase and Blue Leather strap would be perfectly complimented by a Scatola del Tempo Rotor One with a plain chrome bezel and Blue Leather strap.

A Tank Americaine in Rose Gold with a brown leather strap would look perfectly at home in a Rapport Perpetua III in Walnut Finish.

A more contemporary piece like the Santos de Cartier finished in Black with a Black leather strap would sit perfectly in a SwissKubik Black Aluminium MasterBox.

A Brief History of Cartier

Cartier was founded in Paris, France in 1847 by Louis-Francois.  Cartier operates in 125 countries and still has its headquarters in Paris although it is currently owned by the Swiss Richemont Group.  Cartier is notably considered to be one of the most prestigious manufacturers of jewellery in the world.

Alfred Cartier took over the company from his father Louis-Francois but it was the sons of Alfred, Louis, Pierre and Jacques who were responsible for establishing the brand worldwide.

Louis Cartier ran the branch in Paris and is responsible for some of the most celebrated designs, like the mystery clocks, Art Deco designs and the fashionable wristwatches.  It was one of Louis friends, Albert Santos-Dumont who was a Brazilian pioneer aviator who called upon Loius complaining about the unreliability and impracticality of flying using pocket watches.  Louis developed the Santos in 1904 as a result which was Cartier’s first ever wristwatch.

Louis brother Pierre, established the company’s branch in New York City in 1909 and with branches in London and St. Petersberg Cartier was fast becoming one of the worlds most successful watch companies.

1919 saw the birth of iconic Tank model, designed by Louis Cartier … its design inspired by the tanks serving in World War 1.

Cartier has continued to deliver iconic watches and breath-taking jewellery ever since and continue to be loved and cherished by people the world over.
