Watch Winders suitable for Tag Heuer Watches:

When selecting a watch winder that is suitable for your Tag Heuer watch things are made really quite simple as the majority of their current models fit within the standard winding specifications shared by the vast majority of all automatic watches on sale today.  If you want to learn some of the basics our guide to selecting a watch winder would be the perfect place to go.

A selection of some of our most popular winders that are suitable for the majority of Tag Heuer Watches.

(Please remember to check your required TPD and Direction of Winding.  If you need any help please do not hesitate to contact us!)

The majority of Tag Heuer watches require 650 TPD and need to be wound Bi-Directionally, here are a few of the most popular Tag Heuer models and their winding specifications:

Please do not be concerned if a watch winder has slightly more TPD than is suggested for your watch.  There is protection built into each automatic watch that protects them against over winding … once the watch is fully wound then any extra turns per day generated by your watch winder would simply not be counted.

Find the right style Watch Winder for your TAG Heuer Watch

Once the basics of TPD and Direction of winding have been covered you can start to have fun finding the perfect winder for your watch.  We all like different things and as you were faced with many options when choosing your watch there are similarly many options when it comes to choosing your watch winder.

Here are a few suggestions of how your watch can be complimented by its winder:

An Aquaracer with a Black Bezel – Try a Scatola del Tempo Rotor One with a matching Black Bezel

A Classic Monaco with a Brown Dial and Brown Leather strap – This would look perfectly at home in a Cognac coloured Wolf Cub single winder

A Monaco with a Gulf Dial – Try matching the dial to orange or blue case from the MasterBox series from SwissKubik

A Carrera with a Black Dial and Steel Bracelet – This would sit beautifully in a Rapport Evo Cube in Midnight Black.

A Brief History of Tag Heuer

Eduard Heuer founded his watch making company in 1860 at the age of 20 in St-Imier, Switzerland … Originally known as Uhrenmanufaktur Heuer AG.  A majority stake of the company was sold in 1985 to the TAG Group forming the brand we recognise today, TAG HEUER.

The name is built up from the initials or ‘Techniques d’Avant Garde’ and of course the founder’s surname, Heuer.

Heuer have been associated with ‘Dashboard Chronographs’ since 1911 when they received a patent for the ‘Time of Trip’.  A dial indicates the duration of a trip at the 12 o’clock position and is set/reset by a top mounted crown.

Heuer moved things on and released their first wrist chronograph in 1914 with the crown still in the 12 o’clock position.

Heuer chronographs were used by pilots throughout the 1930’s and 1940’s.

It was in the 1960’s that Heuers became extremely popular among both professional and amateur automobile racers.  Heuer were leading suppliers and producers of stopwatches and timing equipment and that led to a natural progression of racers, pit crews, event sponsors etc… all wearing Heuer Chronographs.  This association with motorsport developed over years to create an extremely strong bond between the brand and motorsport resulting in many iconic watches.

Many famous names within the motor racing world have endorsed the brand including Ayrton Senna, Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton but the most famous celebrity associated with the brand has to be Steve McQueen who wore a blue Monaco in the 1971 film Le Mans.
